Marconi Express announces that, from Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October, the monorail service will be suspended to allow for testing of a system update to improve passenger comfort.
On Friday 2 October, the monorail service will be in operation.
From Saturday 3 October to Tuesday 6 October, the monorail service will be suspended to allow the removal of the third and final vehicle from the line, thereby completing the entire cycle of general overhauls and ensuring the system’s full efficiency and the maintenance of quality standards. Routine maintenance work will also be carried out during this period. These operations, which cannot be postponed, had already been scheduled prior to the planning of the tests with the relevant authorities.
During the days when monorail service is suspended – from Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October and from Saturday 3 October to Tuesday 6 October – the connection between the airport and Bologna Central Station, and vice versa, will be provided from 5.40 am until midnight via a replacement shuttle bus service, departing from the following points:
- at the airport, on the ground floor at the arrivals exit;
- at Lazzaretto station on Via Terracini;
- at the central station on Via Carracci.
Shuttle bus journeys take approximately 35–40 minutes, with services running roughly every 16–18 minutes. Due to roadworks, passengers are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey.
The costs and booking procedures for tickets for the replacement shuttle bus service remain the same as for the monorail service, so that passengers can use tickets they have already purchased without incurring additional costs or facing further complications.
